The piece of music is a special composition created specifically for the ensemble, person, event, or other dedication.  The music commission can be tailored to your requests, the needs of the performers, or the circumstances of the performance.  The premiere of the new work is reserved for the person who commissioned the music and becomes a very special moment in the lives of the performers, audience members, and commissioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in commissioning&nbsp;Mark Taylor to compose a piece for&nbsp;your ensemble,&nbsp;you may&nbsp;email him at&nbsp;<strong>CompositionTaylor@icloud.com<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Please be ready to consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>\u2022 Instrumentation<\/b> and general descriptions of abilities of your instrumentalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <b>3 Scores<\/b> that best represent your ensemble.&nbsp; Please choose scores that your ensemble has had its most successful performances with, not necessarily the most difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <b>Instruments you may like to showcase <\/b>if you have a particularly stellar section or soloist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <b>Pedagogical needs <\/b>if you are interested in a \u201cperformance etude\u201d style piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <b>Dedications <\/b>are typically given to the designated ensemble, but if you are interested in another dedicatee Dr. Taylor may ask a little about the person\u2019s qualities and musical tastes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reduced pricing is available for community and student ensembles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why commission a piece of music?
